What is the Quantum Dot Display?
Quantum dots, general speaking, are tiny semiconductor crystals consisting of a few atoms. Scientific experiments prove that quantum dots can emit light after absorbing energy. Applications of quantum dots technology in display products are mainly divided into two major categories: Active Matrix Quantum-dot Light Emitting Diode (AMQLED) and quantum dot backlight. AMQLED is a self-luminous display technology without a backlight source. Its light-emitting mechanism is similar incandescent lamp. Quantum dots can give out light by injecting current. The display effect is similar Active-Matrix Organic LED (AMOLED). These two display devices are similar in structure, but their light sources are different. Organic materials are replaced by inorganic quantum dots. AMQLED, featuring high efficiency, energy saving, long service life, and more pure bright color, is the next-generation important display technology.
